Bambi II

Bambi's mother is shot. The Great Prince, his father, accepts with resignation that he will have to look after Bambi. At the beginning of spring, there is a gathering of the young animals. Afterwards, all the youngsters rejoin their mothers. Only Bambi is left to wait for his father. He falls asleep and dreams about his mother. His father comes just in time to save Bambi, frozen with fright, from hunting dogs. The Great Prince wants Friend Owl to find a step-doe for reluctant Bambi. Bambi fights with Ronno, and two are surprised by a hunting party. Ronno flees, leaving Bambi to deal with a pack of dogs. Bambi escapes them and hits one of the dogs, but the ledge he was standing on gives way. The Great Prince rushes to his son. Believing him to be dead, he shows how much he loves him: he cries nuzzling the prone Bambi. Bambi, who has become a bit of a legend among the youngsters of the forest after his bash with the hunting dogs, has grown a pair of antlers. The Great Prince of the forest finally acknowledges him. There is also romance in the air, between Bambi and Faline.
