Searching for signals from extraterrestrials, SETI scientists are excited to discover an alien transmission. Analyzing it, they discover that it contains genetic DNA information. Hoping to gain additional information, they splice the unknown DNA with human DNA to create a hybrid. This produces a seemingly normal girl who they name Sil. However, she matures incredibly quickly, and demonstrates great strength, speed, and intelligence. Assessed as a threat, she is ordered destroyed, but before the scientists can do so, she escapes from her confinement. After her escape, Sil (Natasha Henstridge) quickly matures into adulthood. In order to destroy or capture her, the government employes a team of mixed backgrounds who it is hoped will be able to use their specialties to locate her. The team speculates that she might be seeking to mate, potentially producing dangerous offspring. Unfortunately, after attempting to find her, their suspicions are confirmed, and they must act quickly to save humanity.
