After a prestigious businessman is murdered right in the heart of MI6, James Bond (Pierce Brosnan) sets off to identify the assassin, a mission that puts him in touch with the late man's daughter, Elektra King (Sophie Marceau). Bond appoints himself as King's protector, fearing that the man responsible for her father's death with target her next as part of a scheme to shut down the King family oil pipeline. As loyalties are tested Bond must determine just who is really pulling the strings behind the murders and figure out just how a stolen nuclear submarine fits into the picture along with a terrorist who feels no pain at all.
