Plot

When Ariel Hart, a middle-aged movie star, suddenly realizes she won't be offered any more roles, she sets out on a series of zany maneuvers to begin a new career, finally buying a San Diego trucking company ("Able Body Trucking''). Between lessons in truck driving and martial arts, she searches for her lost love of 34 years before. In the meantime, Ariel also strikes up a romance with an avocado rancher with a past. When his enemies sabotage the trucking company, a host of Hollywood stars come to the rescue and long-lost lovers reunite to live happily ever after. A wild and crazy heroine and slapstick humor aren't what one expects from a Michaels (Dear Emily) novel, but they make for a memorable reading experience.
