Plot

New Orleans private detective Micky Knight has been hired to provide security for an exclusive party on the bucolic side of Lake Ponchartrain. Hand picked guests, a beautiful spring weekend and women everywhere - the ideal job. But murder crashes this perfect party when the body of a young woman is found in the surrounding woods. Back in the city, another body is discovered at the clinic run by Dr. Cordelia James. The same Cordelia who broke Micky's heart. Micky finds that love and desire don't follow neat and tidy paths - as much as she wants Cordelia she falls into the arms of another woman. As Micky weaves her way through the tangle of emotions, she desperately tries to protect Cordelia from murder charges. But then the killer circles closer and closer until finally Micky herself is targeted as the next victim.
