Plot

Anna is an office temp with a passionate yearning for a mysterious woman in white leather. She's been bruised so badly by love that she no longer knows who she is, or should be; and she's haunted by fragments of the American Dream. Doc is a post-Freudian psychiatrist who hands out business cards to likely-looking neurotics on street comers, and is himself searching for "the big WHY." Together, Doc and Anna take on Jewish Funerals and AIDS memorials, People magazine and personal ads, Spam Patio Dip and the space program, and the apocalyptic netherworld that is daily life on New York City's Lower East Side. Anna's journey culminates with the discovery of Dora, whose eyes are full of trains, and whose essential wisdom introduces Anna to the renewing power of sex and love.
