Sometimes hilarious, sometimes horrifying, consistently captivating, Not So Much the Fall stunningly intertwines the journeys in Casey's life that lead her toward wholeness. On the road to Portland, Oregon, fleeing Memphis in the wake of her mother's death - and on the road back to Memphis nine years later, hoping to see her beloved dogs once more before her lover throws her out - Casey has time to contemplate life according to herself, karmic coincidence, and Alfred Hitchcock. Through a fog of angst and chemically-induced confusion, she glimpses the consequences of her life's actions - some borne of naive trust and love, some of defiant disregard of ominous signs and resistance to living by the basic rules of honesty and integrity.
