Entwined focuses of the life of 77-year-old Lottie Mower, a nearly silent women who's been in mental hospitals and nursing homes for more than 50 years. Charly--a young lesbian who works at Heritage Home--wants to know why the women does not speak. Charly begins dreaming the old woman's young life and finds herself increasingly entwined with the intensity--of love, of violence, of betrayal--that Lottie in Lima State Hospital.
