The stylish new drawing show in Minneapolis pulled in all the important movers and shakers except one -- powerful critic Hale Micklenberg, who had promised the show a bad review. But a bullet found Micklenberg first. Food critic Sophie Greenway was troubled to learn that her own son could be involved in the murder. But so could a host of others, including the "unhappy" widow. Guided by rumor, a bizarre phone message, and Micklenberg's obsession with an obscure artist, Sophie canvassed for a killer, never dreaming that the killer was also canvassing for her . . .
