Plot
This is the story of Bess, one woman who did go to war .Deprived of a normal life by a tragic riding accident, Bess enlists in the army as a nurse during World War II. En route to her assigned destination, her carrier plane is shot down over France. Bess, the sole survivor, falls in with a group of partisans and learns firsthand the hard reality of war.
