Plot

"I began my 30-year career as a pioneer builder of super-efficient homes with this book as the required text and practical manual at Cornerstones School of Energy-Efficient Building in Maine. The lead instructor at the school, Dale McCormick, was the author of this book, first women to become a union journeyman carpenter in the nation, and an excellent teacher. Bothered that all existing carpentry text books were written in a dry, technical manner, Dale wrote the first professional carpentry manual by and for women - spiral-bound, in longhand and full of hand-drawn sketches. Yet the book was just as accessible and educational for any man. Though somewhat out of date, the basic building principles and techniques are still sound, and I would highly recommend this book for anyone wanting fundamental knowledge of house building or considering entering the profession."--Review written by Robert Riversong on Amazon.com viewed June 29, 2022
