Plot

Dilligence Strong records her return to her birthplace, a rundown borderland farm in Northern Ireland. There she attempts to work the land despite the dourness of her brother Reynold. She becomes involved with a dispossessed young woman called Cathy and relives memories of her 'good and beautiful' sister Constance.
