Plot

Written by a major pioneering figure in the women's music movement. Dobkin performed with Kay Gardner and other women in the early 1970s before she released the famous lesbian feminist record Lavender Jane Loves Women in 1973. This album which jumpstarted the Women's Music Network. Dobkin includes an autobiographical essay about her youth in New York City and Philadelphia, as well as her early years in folk music.
