Shadowpact

FINAL ISSUE: The Sun King sends his minions whilehe recharges, fissioning matter and absorbing energy. Not far away, Blue Devil battles Jack of Fire. Jack, bitter at Sun King's betrayal and certain of his doom once the forces of Hell discover that he betrayed them, demands Blue Devil kill him! In fact, he seizes Blue Devil's trident and does the job! One the ground, the physical forces are getting drubbed by demons, while in the air, Enchantress realizes they will need the magical help of every Shadowpact there ever was. Mrs. Prescott arranges that. And Blue Devil, newly repowered as inheritor of his brother's estate, sends demons back to Hell right and left. The magicians, working together, sever the Sun King's connection to all his source of energy, and he withers and fades. All that is left is the burnt out corpse that was once Doctor Gotham. The Sun King's death causes the various Shadowpacts to return to their own times. The Shadowpact has succeeded, but there is always more work. Still, there is time for a celebratory drink; even the Phantom Stranger pauses long enough to indulge.
