Black Mask has carved a message to Catwoman into Slam Bradley's chest. He's hiding in his penthouse threatening to sue the city becuase Sam broke in as Smart Bomb. As Slam struggles to survive, Sam Jr's partner Lenahan tells him the fallout from his highly public rescue of his father is going to be ugly. Gotham City looks bad, and Sam Jr's going to take the fall for it - maybe even prison. Lenahan never liked him, but this isn't right, so he's issuing a warning. A head start. Sam steals the Smart Bomb suit and meets with Selina. His former partners are determined to catch him, now, but someone covering the angles incapacitates them. And as Sam flies, his jet pack fails - sabotage! Now he's in the hospital, too, and Selina is alone. She stops by to ask the unconscious Slam to stop her. Then she hits Black Mask's penthouse. He doesn't kill her - he has decided they need to be archenemies. But he does promise to kill her friends. She gets close enough to reverse things. He's certain she won't pull the trigger... but she does.
