Catwoman takes Smart Bomb to the ground by damaging his jet pack, then evades the cops when they try to arrest her. From a roof nearby, Hush admires this. Catwoman gets home in time to get an urgent call from Holly, at the deli. Someone interrupts the call, but Catwoman got enough. Sneaking into the ceiling, she discovers Arnold Wexler - the Ventriloquist - and his "mouthpiece" Scarface. Catwoman dives through the ceiling to save Holly from being machine gunned, and then uses an aerosol can flamethrower to set Scarface on fire, causing the Ventriloquist to collapse emotionally. But Catwoman feels ovewhelmed trying to keep the East End free of dangerous villains. Hush offers his help if Catwoman retrieves something from S.T.A.R. Labs for him. She agrees and breaks in easily, but finds herself overmatched by the human element, a guard in sophisticated powered armor. She flees into the vault containing her objective; Hush, overhearing, realizes he won't get what he sent her for. When the guards blast their way in, the canister Catwoman was to retrieve falls and cracks open...
