Mr. Terrific and Hawkgirl are in the past inside Black Barax's ship. They see Captain Marvel disappear into a time rift leading into ancient Egypt, just before they meet the original Mr. Terrific. They then fight alongside the Freedom Fighters in Washington, D. C. trying to stop Black Barax from using the Human Bomb to fuel his ship. Meanwhile, Dr. Fate is on Gemworld, learning about the origins of Mordru in an attempt to free his wife from the coma she is in.After bluffing Barax into leaving, Mr. Terrific and Hawkgirl use his ship to head to ancient Egypt, looking for Captain Marvel. They are surprised on their arrival there by Vandal Savage, holding the Orb of Ra with a Metamorpho type being at his side.
