Captain Marvel saves Mr. Terrific and Hawkgirl from the ambush by Vandal Savage and Ahk-Ton, who has the powers of Metamorpho. They go to the temple city of Karnak, where Prince Khufu, Nabu, Black Adam, and Chay-Ara are leading the last stand of the kingdom before Savage's forces. In the future, Dr. Fate is lead to what he is told will free his wife from her coma, but after he returns to earth, it is revealed that he has been tricked by servants of Mordru.The JSA members trapped in the past use their knowledge of future warfare to prepare for the next assault from Vandal Savage. Captain Marvel gets to know more of Black Adam's past and Khufu gets confirmation that he and his beloved will be reborn.
