Plot

The balance between form and function is examined in this book. It identifies common threads across the broad areas outlined for examination. Students are challenged by examples of work which extend their understanding of the two vital ingredients of three-dimensional work and are encouraged to explore their sense of touch. Contents include: drawing for sculpture, carving, modelling, construction, wrapped form, organic form, open and closed form and decorative surfaces. Activities are included to encourage students to think about the process of designing and to develop their own imaginative ideas.
