The Puppet Master suspects something has changed with Alicia, but he can't get close enough to investigate in person. He makes a puppet of Marvel Boy and manipulates him into capturing Alicia, pitting the New Warriors against the Fantastic Four in battle. Before a clear victor emerges, he discards the puppet, freeing Marvel Boy long enough for both teams to realize what was going on. The Puppet Master escapes before Alicia learns what he wanted with her, partly because the Puppet Master has drawn some sort of unrevealed conclusion.
