The Puppet Master goes to the Mad Thinker in order to get help in investigating the changes in Alicia. Meanwhile, Reed builds a brainwave scanner to defend them all from the Puppet Master's attacks. It seems as though he's too late, when the Thing comes storming into the Four Freedoms Plaza trying to smash Alicia. Johnny manages to slow him down, and Reed's own brain wave investigations lead to the same conclusion that the Mad Thinker came to (who passed his info on to the Puppet Master, who shared it with the Thing). Alicia Masters didn't marry Johnny, a Skrull in Alicia's form did.
