The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse (Famine, War, Pestilence and Death) finally arrive in New York City at midnight on New Year's Eve in the year 2000. To their shock, they aren't greeted with fear, but cheered on by revelers who think that they are part of a live concert. Shocked and dismayed by the nature of their welcome, the four retire to a nearby bar where they discuss their place in this new world, and interact with some of the people in it.Famine learns that while hunger is ever a peril in the world, after so many years it has been dwarfed by it's very opposite: Overpopulation. A problem that has caused humanity to question the very sanctity of life. He declares that he must ponder this greater threat, and perhaps embrace it, instead of hunger.
