"The Lurkers In The Shadow" - Carl Ferris returns quite decisively, retaking control of Ferris Air, and laying off many of its staff. Hal and Carol get away for a while on a vacation, and encounter a small Canadian town populated by beings that do not fit the description of "human" in any way, shape or form.

"Doom In The Citadel of Ice" - Adam returns to Rann, in hopes of finding his wife. He tracks her down, but when he finds her, she is the captive of Alvar Xar, who is prepared to make extreme demands of Adam.
