In a vision, Ballistic flees from Kracus on her motorcycle, but he catches her. Having claimed his father’s leadership of the Ethreal, he invites her to join him as his queen as he conquers humanity. Based on what Killjoy told her, Ballistic goes to the cavern in Death Valley. Inside, she is attacked by Wetworks. In the course of the fight, she briefly morphs into an Ethreal before one of the Ethreal’s pet creatures subdues her. Meanwhile, Dia Occasm finds Kracus in a town where he has just slaughtered 15,000 people. They are met by Sandri who still wants to recruit the Ethreal, but Kracus just kills him. In the cavern, Wetworks has restored Ballistic to human form, and they explain that she was bitten by an Ethreal. Mother-One has identified the facility Cyberdata took the Ethreal to as the Tesserac; Ballistic knows where it is and agrees to join forces. En route, Waering informs Mother-One that Kracus has transformed into a god-like state and gone insane. Wetworks’ mission is now to save Dia and Myrna and kill Kracus. Ballistic leads them into the Tesserac and reveals that Cyberdata abandoned it because its paradoxical structure drove the staff insane. While Mother-One hacks the facility’s systems, Ballistic finds Myrna’s remains.
