Seeking to fill gaps in her memories, Mother-One goes off on her own and links with the Tesserac’s systems to search Cyberdata’s files for information on herself. She discovers she was part of a Cyberdata strike team in the 1970s with Killjoy and a man named Nicholas Christian a.k.a. Archer whom she recognizes. Claymore, Jester, and Ballistic catch up with her, and she orders them to prepare for departure, but Ballistic is suspicious. They fly to the town Kracus decimated and launch two low-yield nuclear warheads at him, but he remains unharmed. Just as Kracus is about to strike, Mother-One throws Ballistic out of the jet at him. Dia teleports Ballistic away just before she lands and explains that she must achieve “ecstasy”, the same supercharged state Kracus has reached, in order to stop him. Ballistic begins the process, experiencing visions of her past followed by torment at Kracus’s hands. She achieves ecstasy and morphs into an angelic form with Dia guiding her. Kracus attacks, but Ballistic removes the Cyberdata brain box from his body, restoring him to his original form. He falls unconscious as Wetworks arrives, and Ballistic stops them from killing Kracus, saying she will guard him. After they leave, she questions her identity and decides to seek out Morgan Stryker for help.
