Black Manta has left Aquaman severely injured. An old foe, Thanatos, a kind of evil Aquaman from another dimension, sees an opportunity to torment his enemy. He does this by manipulating Aquaman's dreams, so that he believes his friends in the Justice League abandon him and his ex-wife blames him for the death of the baby Black Manta murdered. Even that baby, grown to a teenager, blames him. He finally wakes up, throwing off the dream, and asks his friend Vulko whether his family could forgive him. Vulko believes they could and did. In trying to undermine his enemy, Thanatos has actually strengthened his mind and resolve. But there will always be another opportunity...
