Renko and Hill are on garbage duty because of a strike and run into trouble with a drug kingpin. Hunter is called back to EAT duty, only to face his former right hand man Ballantine.

Goldblume takes the blame when a drug addict who was released the day before runs down several people with a car. Buntz attempts to save the Furillo's marriage after overhearing a rumor that Joyce may be unfaithful. LaRue is obsessed with winning a 'Catch the Biggest Cockroach' competition. Belker chases a purse-snatching dog.

15 Norman Conquest 46 min | Feb 10, 1987

Furillo and Goldblume are grading officers in line for a promotion, leaving Norman Buntz in charge of the Hill. The precinct needs $130,000 to reinstate overtime pay, so Buntz encourages everybody to busts as much illegal drugs as they can to make up the numbers. Belker meets a younger version of himself in a street hustler nicknamed 'Fetch' while Renko is reunited with his stolen motorcycle.

16 Sorry Wrong Number 46 min | Mar 03, 1987

The new voice activated vending machine will do anything for Officer Tina Russo. Goldblume and Buntz wire a former gang member called Alfred Williams to find out who slaughtered a family in their sleep. Flaherty and Bates deal with a rich lady and her Latin lover. Renko has another one of those days in which he just can't keep his clothes clean.

17 The Cookie Crumbles 47 min | Mar 10, 1987

LaRue takes an unhealthy interest in a group of young cheerleaders. Calletano stand up against Chief Fletcher for the Latin American Coalition when an innocent Spanish-speaking man is shot. Bates discovers Russo and Flaherty are having an affair. Golblume has to hunt down Alfred Williams. Renko is afraid his wife may be coerced into having an affair by her new male co-worker.

18 Dogsbreath Afternoon 47 min | Mar 17, 1987

Belker has been shot and is in critical condition. His colleagues go into overdrive trying to find the shooter. Renko has cheated on Daryl Ann and is forced to choose between confessing or being blackmailed. Russo and Flaherty investigate reports of an escaped lion in a warehouse. Hunter is called before the review board concerning his reinstatement to lieutenant a week earlier than planned.

19 Days of Swine and Roses 47 min | Mar 31, 1987

The cops have their hands full with people competing in a radio station's Most Outrageous Act' competition. Washington gets emotionally involved with the mother and sister of a mentally disturbed young man. Lt. Hunter returns to EAT duty. Renko and Hill are picked out to test a new computerized patrol car.

20 The Runner Falls on His Kisser 47 min | Apr 07, 1987

The Hill becomes a hot spot for the media when Russo arrests a football star for soliciting. LaRue persuades Buntz to enter the annual shooting competition at the Police Academy. Frank's brother Joe asks him for a loan. Belker is back in undercover action at LaSculi's Bakery. Lt. Hunter is missing in action.

21 A Pound of Flesh 47 min | May 05, 1987

Hunter is found, having survived 11 days in a collapsed basement. Jesus Martinez almost starts a gang war claiming his little sister was kidnapped the day before her wedding. Buntz is suspected of keeping and selling a kilo of cocaine for himself from the plane crash suitcase. LaRue is nearly shot in the face and afterwards, briefly thinks he's invincible. Goldblume's first short story is published and everybody in the precinct except Belker recognizes himself in one of the characters.

22 It Ain't Over Till It's Over 47 min | May 12, 1987

When a fire breaks out at the Hill Station in the early morning, I.A.D. Jim Shipman blames the already suspended Lt. Buntz. Belker is forced to finally take a look at his mother's paperwork. LaRue attempts to one-up a TV reporter broadcasting live as he opens a gangsters cellar.
