I Love Lucy
I Love Lucy (1951 - 1960) is an American sitcom that centers on an unforgettable showbiz-wannabe redhead, her Cuban bandleader husband, and their landlords, who also happen to be their best friends and co-conspirators.
Technically, I Love Lucy ended May 6, 1957 with the sixth-season episode "The Ricardos Dedicate a Statue." This set, however, collects the 13 episodes of what can be considered the successor to I Love Lucy, known as The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour. First airing on November 6, 1957, the show was more an offering of hour-long specials rather than a regular series -- it was often months between shows. Picking up where I Love Lucy left off, Lucy (Lucille Ball), husband Ricky (Desi Arnaz), and best friends Ethel (Vivian Vance), and Fred (William Frawley) continue their popular comedy formula honed during the original series.
Lucy complains that she doesn't have nearly enough Hollywood souvenirs, a statement with which Ricky takes issue. When she and Ethel go to the Grauman's Chinese Theater, they notice that John Wayne's footprints are loose, so they pry the cement block out of the ground and take it back to the hotel.
To avoid bad publicity for the upcoming opening of his Don Juan movie Ricky calls Grauman's Chinese Theater to explain how John Wayne's footprints went missing. The manager of Grauman's promised not to call the police if the footprints were returned by that evening's opening of John Wayne's film Blood Alley (1955). Having broken them, that is obviously impossible, so Ricky convinces John Wayne to provide a new set of footprints.
Lucy receives a call from MGM asking Ricky if he wants to perform in a show for the executives. Lucy says he'll do it; if she can perform with him. Ricky won't perform in the show at all, so Lucy uses a dummy that the studio made of Ricky in the act.
When Ricky sells the car, the Mertzes are afraid they're going to be stuck in California.
On the trip back to New York, Lucy learns a jewel thief's on their train.

Lucy won't be able to go to Europe if she can't find her birth certificate.
The girls seek a cure for Fred's seasickness.
Lucy gets left behind when the gang sets sail for Europe.
Lucy thinks the trip to Europe will be her and Ricky's second honeymoon, but his schedule doesn't leave much time for her. She feels left out when even Fred and Ethel start feeling romantic.
While in London, Lucy is determined to meet the Queen of England.
The gang's invited on a fox hunt, but Lucy's jealousy may ruin the whole weekend.
Lucy wants to investigate her family history in Scotland.
Lucy and the gang have adventures on the streets of Paris.

In Rome, a film producer asks Lucy if she'd be interested in auditioning for his new film entitled "Bitter Grapes." Thinking that the film has something to do with the production of wine, she goes to the only non-automated winery left in the area.
The gang goes on a long bike ride. When they get to the French/Italian border, Lucy doesn't have her passport.
Lucy and Ethel go to the casino and inadvertently win big. After Ricky finds the hidden money, he thinks Fred has been skimming Ricky's concert earnings.
Lucy takes a huge block of cheese disguised as a baby on the flight home.
