Fantastic Four Annual #2

Fantastic Four Annual

#2

The Fantastic Origin of Doctor Doom!

In the lead story, we learn the history of Doctor Doom. His mother was killed when he was but a child, and his father was a gypsy healer. When his father failed to save the life of a Baroness (through no fault of his own) he was killed, leaving Victor an orphan in the care of Boris. Victor then learned his mother was a sorceress, and swore to use all he knew of both science and magic to bring the world under his control. He attended State University, where he met Reed Richards and Ben Grimm. Ignoring Richards' advice to double check his numbers, he tried a dangerous experiment to contact the netherworld, and succeeding only in scarring his facing, driving him to wear a mask and become Doctor Doom.

In the second story, Doom has encountered Rama-Tut, which provides him the means to get home and mount a new assault on the F.F. driving a wedge between them in his native Latveria.

The issue also has pin-ups of Super Skrull, Rama-Tut, the Molecule Man, the Infant Terrible, Diablo, Alicia Masters and each member of the Fantastic Four. It also contains a reprint of "Fantastic Four #5."
