Witnessing a kidnapping and a murder, Batman tracks the car, only to find himself fighting the Justice League's own Aquaman. Surprised and defeated, he awakens to find himself in Commissioner Gordon's care. He soon learns that Bruce Wayne's latest date, Alisa Dubois, sports the same Kraken talisman that the murdered man had. Feigning death to follow her to her employer, Mr. Marius, Bruce realizes Alisa is merely a pawn. Soon Aquaman enters, and escapes with Bruce Wayne. Aquaman reveals that Marius is actually Aquaman's half brother Orm Curry, the Ocean Master, and that Aquaman can't bring himself to turn his brother in. The two continue to pursue the Ocean Master, and although he escapes, Alisa voluntarily turns herself in.
