Wonder Woman, having taken a leave of absence from the League, is attacked by a mysterious man who easily brushes off her attack. Summoning the League, the attacker is revealed to be the Martian Manhunter. Taking him to the sanctuary, the Manhunter reveals that, on Mars, he had been a commander in the midst of a civil war against the White Martians. The White Martians are slowly destroying all the Green Martians, forcing the Manhunter back to Earth in order to find help.The League return to Mars with the Manhunter and aid him in combating the White Martians but are too late to prevent the scouring of Mars. The Manhunter and the White Martians' leader battle until the Manhunter defeats him. The last remaining Green Martians leave the planet before the Manhunter can join them and the issue ends with him setting off in search of them.
