Batman questions Doctor Light over how she came into possession of a communicator while Jack Ryder rubbishes the League's membership on television. Maxwell Lord interviews a Mr Gold. Elsewhere, the Gray Man ponders whether he should discard his duties as the collector of souls and dream stuff, causing Dr Fate to warn him against giving up. In Bialya, a nuclear missile silo is attacked by three costumed heroes who are intent upon removing all the nuclear weapons of the world. Bialya's ruler, Ruuman Harjavti, attempts to coerce them into working for him. The League respond to reports of the three's attacks on various countries' nuclear weapons while they recall how a nuclear war had devastated their home planet in another dimension, leading them to travel the worlds, ridding them of nuclear weapons. Guy Gardner attacks them and they retaliate but the League are forced to retreat rather than invade Bialyan airspace. Harjavti persuades the three heroes that they should remove the weapons from Russia.
