Rumaan Harjavti convinces Silver Sorceress, Wandjina and Blue Jay to head to Russia in order to rid it of its nuclear weapons. The League, despite some of them having reservations, follow the three heroes into Soviet airspace and are attacked by the Rocket Reds. The Russian leader reroutes the Rocket Reds to their missile base where the Sorceress and her allies are trying to get in. Unknown to them, a problem with the reactor causes it to overheat but before it can explode, Wandjina breaks in and manages to close it down, at the cost of his health. The Rocket Reds take him and the others into custody and tell the League to leave. Returning to their headquarters they find Maxwell Lord waiting with Booster Gold whom, he informs them, is their latest member.
