At the time of the annual meeting between the Justice League of Earth-1 and the Justice Society of Earth-2, the transmatter beams transporting members of the two teams are diverted to New Genesis, home of the New Gods. But when they arrive, they find the city mysteriously empty. All but a handful of the New Gods have been taken by the minions of Apokolips. The Justice League and Society join the remainder of the New Gods in finding out what's transpiring on Apokolips, determined to stop it.
