While on monitor duty, Blue Beetle answers the phone before heading into the kitchen where he stabs both Oberon and Max Lord. Max manages to escape into the streets but is pursued by Beetle into a dead-end alleyway. As Beetle prepares to kill Max, the Huntress appears and stops him. She is discovered a moment later by the Batman who sees her standing over the unconcious Beetle and Max. Batman prevents her from leaving, believing her to be the attacker until Beetle wakes and tries again to kill Max, this time stopped by Batman. Huntress leaves in the confusion and Max and Beetle are transported back to the embassy by Guy Gardner.
