The power of Magneto, and his followers, has won the island of Genosha. Once a society whose prosperity was built on the back of mutant slaves, now the country is a mutant homeland. Magneto declares that all mutants are citizens of Genosha, and he will not tolerate their oppression anywhere he finds it. But to try to rescue every mutant on Earth one at a time is just too massive a job. Tempered by Xavier's guidance, Magnus meets with other world leaders. While they do not lend any military forces, he makes great diplomatic strides, forging a mutual defense agreement with the Inhumans, financial aid from Atlantis, and even official recognition from Wakanda. But a rash act on Magneto's part triggers deadly retribution.
