The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

Mikael Bloomkvist (Michael Nyqvist), publisher for the Swedish magazine Millennium, is hired by Hennrik Vanger (Sven-Bertil Taube), to chronicle his family's history. However, Mikael's real mission is to solve a cold case - the disappearance, some forty years ago, of Vanger's niece, a sixteen year old at the time named Harriet Vanger (Ewa Froling). Knowing this, Mikael still takes the job, trying to rebound from being convicted of slander recently. Mikael meets Lisbeth Salander (Noomi Rapace), a punk computer hacker who will help him with his research. The odd pair begins to dig deeper and deeper into the Vanger family's history, and begins to discover some dark secrets in the family's past. Will they find the truth hidden behind the secretive past of the Vanger family?
