Michelle (Alex Essoe) meets Linda (Precious Chong) at a yoga class. Linda’s wide-eyed enthusiasm is clearly off-putting, but Michelle’s aversion to conflict makes it difficult for her to brush off the increasingly pushy woman. Things escalate once Linda asks Michelle to redecorate her home and refuses to let her leave. Written by director Zach Gayne and the film’s two stars, Precious Chong and Alex Essoe (who wowed us with her breakthrough performance in STARRY EYES back in 2014), HOMEWRECKER has an unusual tone informed by late 1980s pop sensibilities. With the energy of a Jane Fonda workout tape, the movie escalates into the uncanny, especially as it deals with gendered expectations surrounding femininity and romance.

My quick rating - 2,4/10. I could easily write an essay about how many things are wrong with this movie. It is never a good sign when you are angry at a movie throughout the whole thing. I assume that means most people in their right mind would turn it off. Well, of course I suffered through this whole piece of trash. Who is Precious Chong and why do I have to suffer through a 5 minute karaoke scene with her? Why write the script to have our damsel in distress be the biggest moron on the planet? I honestly am unsure if this was even a movie and not a play that got filmed. Everything was so stiff with dialogue that was timed to the point the lines may have been spoken on different days to one another. This list could literally fill the page. If I hadn't laughed a couple times it would've been worse. The ending also was mildly amusing but so much pain to get to it. Just pass on this psycho woman who needs attention flick. You'll be happy when you do.
