High Spirits

Peter Plunkett (Peter O’Toole) is an aging Irish castle manager who decides that to attract more visitors he will advertise the attraction as being haunted. He puts his staff to work as they pretend to be a gang of ghosts and ghouls. When the owner of the castle’s daughter arrives one night, she forces Plunkett to end the charade, even though it has become incredibly popular. More trouble ensues when her husband Jack (Steve Guttenberg) begins to fall for one of the “ghosts”, which may spell the end of Peter’s career as manager and master haunter. He must now formulate a plan to make the woman happy and to keep attracting guests, or he will be out of work.
