Supernova

In the 22nd century, a deep space medical team aboard the spacecraft Nightingale 229, and led by pilot Vanzant (James Spader), receive a distress transmission from a mining ship. After traveling to the comet where the small mining team have been working, the crew soon find danger in the form of Larson (Peter Facinelli) who possesses a mysterious alien artifact. Larson manipulates the crew and takes their ship into the orbit of a massive star that is on the verge of going supernova. Other members of the crew include the captain (Robert Forster), a medical officer (Angela Bassett) and a medical technician (Lou Diamond Phillips).
