Surf's Up

In this documentary-style production, Cody Maverick (Shia LeBouf) is a simple penguin living in Antarctica, but he has a dream inspired by a chance meeting with super surfer Big Z when growing up. He too hopes to be as great a surfer as his hero, and when Mikey Abromowitz (Mario Cantone), agent for big-time surfing promoter Reggie Belafonte (James Woods) arrives in his village, he jumps at the chance to join the annual Big Z Surfing Competition. In the process, he makes friends with blissed-out surfer Chicken Joe (Jon Heder), the competitions chief lifeguard Lani Aliikai (Zooey Deschanel), and Lani's cousin Geek (Jeff Bridges), who carries a secret. From them he learns the true meaning of the value of competition and of friendship.
