Trapped by fire, J'onn J'onnz sees a vision of his Martian god H'ronmeer while Gypsy, trying to help Pamela, is psychically attacked. Both she and J'onnz, however, have been drawn to Zatanna who used her subconcious to seek out help.

As they try to help, the three heroes and Pamela - who had been drawn along with Gypsy - shift through various realities before Adam himself approaches, asking for help as the powers he has attained overwhelm him, making him alter reality without control.

Despite having kidnapped and abused her, Zatanna agrees to help Adam and she and Gypsy enter his mind but are quickly lost, leaving J'onn to try and contact the catatonic Adam.
