WEIRD SCIENCE #12
Publisher: EC Grade: CGC 5.0 - 2325381004
An historic first issue, with the EC formula already almost fully in place -- vivid, swoon-worthy art, crisp storytelling, wry commentary, all wrapped up in a cover that practically leapt off the stands. While these initial issues still have some of the cartoonish gloss of late-period Golden Age comics, the creepy, dark vibe of peak-period EC is already leaking into the cover and story, with Feldstein's nightmarish use of foreshortening giving the cover image a claustrophobic, clammy feel that portends of the challenging material inside.
