Last Man Standing
Mike Baxter is the marketing director for an outdoor sporting goods store "Outdoor Man". He loves traveling the world and having outdoor adventures and, of course, he loves his sports, he drives a pick-up truck and works on cars. With his Outdoor Man blog he can share his "man" view with the internet and the world. However at home he is surround by his wife, Vanessa, and their three daughters, Mandy, Eve and Kristin. And that is a different adventure the Outdoor Man has to adjust to every day.
Mike and Vanessa wait for Eve to visit home from the Air Force Academy; Ryan's anxiety about current events leads to a surprising announcement.
Mike has a heart-to-heart with his deceased father; Kristin proposes a new business venture; Mandy gives Kyle a makeover to go with his new corporate job.
Mike and Ed disagree on the future of Outdoor Man; Vanessa thinks Mandy and Kyle are trying to have a baby.
Mike and Chuck install a security system for Outdoor Man on Halloween night before they discover the perfect opportunity to prank Joe; Mandy, Kyle, Kristen and Ryan decide to organize a seance in order to communicate with the supernatural.
Mike has to work overtime to impress the father of a foreign exchange student Vanessa wants to board; Kristen and Ryan try to stay cool when Boyd invites a girl to visit.
Vanessa's mother comes to visit and hits it off with Ed... a little too well. Meanwhile, Mandy and Kyle tutor Boyd, but they may be the ones getting outsmarted.
Mandy nearly gives up on her dream of becoming a fashion designer when she is faced with rejection, sending her into a spiral. Vanessa is then forced to look back at her own career path, which stirs up regrets. Mike then steps in to help the women in his family realize their dreams.
Kyle's first day in Outdoor Man's Human Resources is more than he bargained for when Chuck and Joe file a complaint against Mike.
Mike tries to get a special Christmas present for Ed, while Eve returns for a visit and Vanessa helps the family realize the importance of their long-standing holiday traditions.
When Mike offers to take Boyd on a fishing trip, Ryan objects because the plans interfere with an existing trip he had made with his son. Boyd then insists the three take a trip together, forcing Mike and Ryan to get along. Meanwhile Mandy and Kyle play detectives.
Mike attempts to find common ground with an exchange student they're hosting. Chuck and Kyle play a practical joke on Ed with his DNA results.
Mike and Vanessa take the girls to the family cabin, where Mike challenges them to literally unplug for the weekend and stay off their phones. Meanwhile, for a school assignment, Jen shadows Kyle at work.
Mike is asked to officiate Chuck and Carol's wedding vow renewal for their 25th anniversary, but Mike thinks he should be the best man.
When Chuck and Carol decide to renew their vows, Mike plans to take his officiating to the next level. With Chuck away on his honeymoon, Ed takes over Outdoor Man security duties with a new approach.
Vanessa "helps" Mandy and Kyle look for their first apartment. Meanwhile, Mike is thrilled when Ryan's good business decisions have him unknowingly embracing capitalism.
Mike and Kristen have different opinions on how much space they should give Boyd; Mandy and Kyle find that Ryan isn't a "fun" landlord when they move into their apartment.
Mike regrets inviting Ryan to his poker game - begrudgingly - when Ryan gets the guys to open up about their feelings.
When Ed and Bonnie start spending more time together, Vanessa doesn't want Mike to interfere with their relationship. So of course, he does. Meanwhile, Mandy and Kyle eavesdrop on Kristin and Ryan through their new home security system.
When Mike is called on to teach Sunday school, he calls on Kyle to take his place; Eve thinks Mandy and Kristin are taking advantage of Jen at home.
In an effort to help get her clothing line off the ground and into stores, Mike invites Mandy to sit in on a business meeting with an aggressive sales rep. Meanwhile, Ed hires Kyle to transcribe his life story.
Mandy and Kristin are jealous after discovering a touching poem that Vanessa wrote for Jen. Meanwhile Mike shows off his unbeatable skills playing pinball and gets challenged by Chuck.
When Mandy and Kyle are hesitant to move out of the Baxter household and into their own place, Mike gives them some tough love. Meanwhile Ed and Chuck try to avoid contributing to Boyd's theater fundraiser.
