Amreeka

A Palestinian single woman called Muna (Nisreen Faour) and her teenage son Fadi (Melkar Muallem) win in a green card lottery and move to Chicago to live with her sister`s family. Unfortunately she loses her money that she had concealed in a box of cookies. She is hired by a White Castle fast-food restaurant, where she befriends with Matt (Brodie Sanderson). Muna conceals the fact about her job and pretends to be a bank manager. Reacting to the hatred towards Arabs, Fadi starts a fight, and is arrested. But, he is released on the same day due to the intervention of the principal. The family at last finds out about Muna's job and soothes her. Slowly, she takes pride in her job and manages to pull on.
