Flying Leathernecks

Major Daniel Kirby (John Wayne) and Captain Carl Griffin (Robert Ryan) must lead their squad of aviators in leading the assault on Guadalcanal in World War II. Carl believes that the tough as nails Kirby often times goes over the edge and is far too hard on the squadron, which is referred to as the Wildcats. Kirby disagrees and reasserts his control over his subordinates. As the battle draws near, the men must work together to prepare their squad for battle, because if they do not they all will perish and the extremely important battle will be lost. Their courage, determination, and teamwork is their only chance at defeating the larger enemy.
