The story takes us to the battlefield where an air unit, more popularly known as Flying Tigers, was commanded by Captain Jim Gordon (John Wayne). The 'Flying Tigers' was an American volunteer Group that was fighting against the Japanese troops in China, before America brought its image into the World War 2. Gordon had no choice but to send his outnumbered troops that consisted of pilots who were, in no way, related to each other and had nothing in common, to fight the massive army of the enemy. Also, Gordon was forced to take care of his fellow men's problems. He found it hard when it came to a pilot named Woody Jason (John Carroll), who wanted the war to be a one-man show. Woody was also the man who had his eyes set on Gordon's girlfriend. Gordon's ways of tackling both the air unit and his personal problem form the base for this movie.
