Three's Company
A man shares an apartment with two women and pretends to be gay so the landlord won't kick him out in this popular bedroom farce. Loaded with pratfalls and double entendres, and unapologetically silly, the sitcom was based on the British show `Man About the House.' There were several cast changes, but it was the charm of---and the chemistry among---the three original leads that turned this into a huge success. The roommates' landlords, 'The Ropers,' left for their own show in 1979.
The roommates attempt to set some rules so that they can be assured private time in the apartment with potential dates.
Jack's job search lands him a job as a nude model and an encyclopedia salesman.
The job of manager is available at Janet's flower shop. When she is passed over for a more buxom employee, she decides to change her appearance in order to compete.
Mr. Roper comes to investigate a party that Jack throws and ends up having more fun than he bargained for when he finds himself in Jack's bed the next morning.
Jack and Janet try to protect Chrissy when they discover that her new, older boyfriend is a married man.
Chrissy is concerned when Jack does not make a move on her when they are left alone for the night.
The trio buy Mr. Roper's car from him only to discover it has created more problems than it is worth.
Chrissy tries to impress her new boyfriend by having Jack secretly prepare a dinner that her date will think she prepared.
Chrissy is upset when she is mistaken for a prostitute and then Jack finds himself in hot water when he punches out a vice cop.
Jack tries to improve a dejected Mr. Roper's spirits by getting a girl to hit on him. Unfortnately, Mrs. Roper catches him with the woman.
Janet reunites with an old school friend and invites him for dinner at the apartment where he ends up showing his sleazy side.
Jack's charming uncle gets the roommates into trouble when he gives Mr. Roper a fraudulent check for the rent.
The girls convince Mrs. Roper to get a job which she ends up hating so Jack comes up with a plan that will get Mr. Roper to convince his wife to quit.
After the roommates are not invited to a big Christmas party, they decide to go to a get together at the Ropers place.
Mr. Roper gives Jack money to buy an expensive coat for his wife. This causes a problem when Chrissy thinks it is her birthday present from Jack.
Janet asks Chrissy to help her entertain a business prospect but gets jealous when the young, handsome prospect takes a liking to Chrissy.
Jack and Chrissy agree to take over Janet's babysitting job for a night. To their dismay, they are met with a crying baby, no TV, and a locked liquor cabinet.
Chrissy gets a film camera to make some home movies but the projector is put to deviant use when Larry acquires a porn movie.
Jack agrees to work for Janet in the flower shop, but he doesn't take the job seriously which causes problems in their relationship.
The roommates plan a dinner for the Ropers, but their evening is ruined when a blind guy whom Jack knew in the Navy shows up. He won't leave until Jack hits him.
A woman claiming to be Jack's girlfriend tells Janet and Chrissy that she is pregnant. After they confront him, Jack proposes to his girlfriend who Janet and Chrissy later find out is a different girl.
The roommates clean up the Ropers' garden and give some weeds to Mrs. Roper to use in her flower arranging class. They later discover that the weeds are marijuana plants.
Reverend Snow asks Chrissy to move back home as he does not approve of his daughter's living arrangement.
Jack and Chrissy take turns sucking up to Janet who has acquired a pair of Frank Sinatra tickets. Th roommates are also entrusted to take care of a parakeet that Mr. Roper bought as a gift for his wife.
An old flame who broke Jack's heart shows up unexpectedly. Chrissy attempts to persuade Jack to leave the girl to get him to his surprise birthday party at the Ropers'.
