Three's Company
A man shares an apartment with two women and pretends to be gay so the landlord won't kick him out in this popular bedroom farce. Loaded with pratfalls and double entendres, and unapologetically silly, the sitcom was based on the British show `Man About the House.' There were several cast changes, but it was the charm of---and the chemistry among---the three original leads that turned this into a huge success. The roommates' landlords, 'The Ropers,' left for their own show in 1979.
Jack moves in with Chrissy and Janet, but to get past the landlord who doesn't like young people "living in sin", he must pretend that he is gay.
On Jack's move in day, Chrissy's mother, who doesn't know about him moving in, drops by unexpectedly for a visit.
Karen (Mr. Roper's niece) becomes bored while visiting, so Stanley sets her up with Jack figuring she's "safe" from any fooling around with him. Jack misses Janet's birthday for the date as well.
Jack, Janet and Chrissy hide a puppy from Mr. Roper until they can find him a new home.
A bully at the Regal Beagle comes onto the girls, so Jack comes to their defense.
When the rent money comes up missing, the roommates panic and call the police. They also avoid Mr. Roper who only wants to invite them out for dinner.
