Erotic novelist Mr. Cox either observes or participates in various carnal activities as research for his latest novel. Shot from Cox's point of view with a hand-held subjective camera, this intriguing hardcore oddity has a loose, engrossing, and improvisational you-are-there feeling of intimacy and immediacy that in turn makes the sex scenes that much hotter and more realistic: Mr. Cox gets orally serviced by his attractive and attentive blind secretary Sofi, watches two lesbians make out, enjoys seeing Sofi have a threesome with two men in a bathroom, and arranges for cute young virgin Jamie to go all the way for the first time in a decidedly rough and sadistic B&D set piece with a dominant black stud (this latter scene is a bit difficult to take since the poor gal keeps complaining that it hurts). The picture concludes with Cox watching a stag movie called Sweet 13. The non-star cast all look and act like genuine everyday folks who somehow got coerced into doing a hardcore film: They alternate between seeming awkward or comfortable in front of the camera and for the most part perform the on screen fornication with aplomb. An interesting Golden Age curio.
